ROUTINE EEG
This test uses small flat metal disks called electrodes attached to the scalp of the patient. This is used to analyze and record the electrical brain impulses.
Procedure Time:
20min (awake and drowsy)
1hr, 2min (awake and asleep)
AMBULATORY EEG MONITORING
This test is also used to analyze and record the electrical brain impulses and allowing an extended recording in the patient's home. This provides ability for the patient to move around without the need to stay in the hospital.
Procedure Time:
24hrs, 48hrs, 72hrs
VIDEO EEG MONITORING
This is a type of EEG monitoring that includes video recording for a prolonged period of time through continuous closed-circuit video observation. This allows the physician to observe brain wave activities during the time a seizure or spells occuring in real-time.
